a note to newcomers

However you have found this brain dump of mine please note that:
a. this is a blog.  It is a bit of fun.  It is written on a certain day then left behind, I never go back and edit... ANYTHING.
b. before you take it upon yourself to tell me off for being misanthropic and awful, first, remember you might be missing something in my ridiculous writing, second, stop going out of your way to be offended and go and find some mermaids and fluffy things to look at.
c. then again, if you're moved to express your contempt of me, then good... at least I have moved you to SOMETHING.
d. that is all.

Piedade, Portugal

An amazing hazy thick summer sky hanging over a panicky woman who now only has 4 weeks to move all the shit from this house to that house and catalogue the books as she goes because she's a. a bit anal and b. fed up with watching a historian searching for his stupid books for hours on end and c. it's only going to get worse when they've been moved.  She has managed only 100th of the task... and that has taken two days.  She doesn't have 200 days.  

Oo.  and Eck.

I can only wish you luck. I feel your pain.. moving is HORRIBLE when you've got a decent library. When we moved in 2007, I started out with much optimistic organization, and a few weeks into it, crumbled to a "just put as much in each box as you can, we'll sort it later" marathon!

Hmm. Are there any students around in prof's uni or elsewhere, that would love to earn a few euros either cataloguing stuff or just lending you a hand for a day?

Delegate it out out and add the cost to the mortgage if you have to.

Hang on in there. It will be worth it for a fab finca.
