I love technology. I expect most people who've ever met me or read my various doings on the internet will have understood this by now. I love stuff and gadgets and computers and electronics and electricity and radiowaves. Give me a gadget and I can use it, give me some software and I can work out how to use it and understand how it was written (kind of). I have taught people to use technology with a passion only a true believer can have. The problem is that that is all I am: a believer. Even though I get physical things like cogs and wheels and some non-physical but logical things like software, I don't REALLY get the radio waves, the electric pulses, the nanosecond changes between the 1s and 0s, nor do I REALLY get sub-atomics, or chemistry at atomic level. I understand how they work, I understand the theories, I can sit through 1970s Open University programme with beardies doing their physics and see where they're coming from (that's how bored I used to get, to be able to sit through fifteen minutes of that). I know that they're in there, out there and all around my gagdets, but I don't REALLY. I understand it because I take a huge leap of faith and have to believe in atoms, sub-atomic particles and radiowaves. It's rather like believing in faeries (and NO). HUGE DISCLAIMER: Please don't take this post as a metaphor, taking electricity as god and radiowaves as the love of jesus. cos it ain't. nor faeries.

a note to newcomers
However you have found this brain dump of mine please note that:
a. this is a blog. It is a bit of fun. It is written on a certain day then left behind, I never go back and edit... ANYTHING.
b. before you take it upon yourself to tell me off for being misanthropic and awful, first, remember you might be missing something in my ridiculous writing, second, stop going out of your way to be offended and go and find some mermaids and fluffy things to look at.
c. then again, if you're moved to express your contempt of me, then good... at least I have moved you to SOMETHING.
d. that is all.
