a note to newcomers

However you have found this brain dump of mine please note that:
a. this is a blog.  It is a bit of fun.  It is written on a certain day then left behind, I never go back and edit... ANYTHING.
b. before you take it upon yourself to tell me off for being misanthropic and awful, first, remember you might be missing something in my ridiculous writing, second, stop going out of your way to be offended and go and find some mermaids and fluffy things to look at.
c. then again, if you're moved to express your contempt of me, then good... at least I have moved you to SOMETHING.
d. that is all.

me 'n' david wilkie

'79 there he is with his arm around me, and there I am, radiant and happy.  I can still feel his arm on my shoulder.

Then look at '80.  Just look how far David Wilkie and I grew apart in just a year... he claimed he didn't remember me... can you imagine?  Look at my face, already resigned to the crapitude of men  He is wearing the same tshirt as the first time we met, though, so maybe it was a sign, a subtle "We'll always have Stevenage, Lucy, my love" tshirt sign.  

My swimming club, drove all the way from North Devon to Stevenage in a minibus for that first "Swimalong with David Wilkie".  What were they thinking?  

Gawd, he was a good looking fellah, wasn't he? 

At least I have the memory of his moustache in glorious technicolour in the 1980 one.
