Livin' draws are quick, animated story-telling devices that I make using various methods and bits of software (highly top dead secret and I'm not telling). Enjoy them... or else.

I was looking for music for my livin' draws and Rachie very kindly put me on to Karmadillo, who very kindly allowed me to use some of their charango (hollowed out armadillo stringed instrument) music, which I really like and this song I particularly love, No One Else, really fitted the mood of this livin' draw.... so first watch the movie and read the words of the movie, then listen to the song, then go and look up Karmadillo, because they're splendid. Also, if you want you can watch this full screen as it's high def. There you are then. chip from lucy pepper on Vimeo. |

I've made a new badge for anyone to use. Please feel free to take it and use it. Help keep the bad grammar out of your comment box or you greengrocer's window:
I will be shortly making other badges to cover the "they're / there / their" dumbasses and the "your / you're" morons. There will be a disclaimer on the back of each to unoffend dyslexics. |

I asked for a bunch of random words on twitter between 11am and 12pm on Wednesday. This is what happened. I'm very sorry, it's incredibly silly and some of the references are incredibly British. But it you have 7:31 to spare... (if you go to vimeo, you can see it in High Def, even download it so you can see it without all the buffering crap) 51 from lucy pepper on Vimeo.

nothing if not inconsistent from lucy pepper on Vimeo.if you've read more than a few posts of this blog, you'll probably already know how this blogging illustrator feels about mythical creatures. If you don't, then you will by the end of this livin' draw. |

In attempt to seem less neglectful of my children than I really am, I got them to help me make a movie (see previous post). It was that or let them make pop music with a xylophone, garage band on my mac and no tuning fork. It is absolutely nothing like my other movies. I think it is quite possibly the silliest thing I have made since I pretended to be a frog by scraping a pencil backwards and forwards over the speaker on our tape recorder while it was recording when I was eight-ish. They now understand that the life of a film crew is really tough and that making stop frame animation (we filmed a whole 27 frames) is REALLY tedious. I hope you enjoy it. I can go back to shouting at them now. Chihuahua Story from lucy pepper on Vimeo. |
